University Academy 92 (UA92) is a ground-breaking, new higher education institution co-founded by Lancaster University and the Class of ‘92.
Based in Old Trafford, we are just a stone’s throw from Manchester United’s famous football stadium and Lancashire Cricket’s home ground, with accommodation nearby and tram links to the city centre and beyond on our doorstep.
Home to over 800 students, our student community join us to study a portfolio of degree and higher education courses across business, sport, media and digital disciplines. Degrees are awarded by Lancaster University, one of the UK’s leading universities.
Our facilities
UA92 is a modern university, with innovation at its heart.
Our facilities include a state-of-the art Sports Performance Centre, a media broadcasting studio, fitness, well-being and religious spaces, a cafe, student support services including mental health and 1-2-1 counselling sessions, and student social and group study areas.
In 2022, we opened our new multi-million pound Digital Academy with state of the art technology including a robotics lab, a fully immersive 360-degree Igloo learning space, AR capabilities in classrooms and digital media labs.
Preparing you for life
UA92 prepares students for the world of work by offering industry-led courses. Working in partnership with leading industry names including Microsoft, TalkTalk, KPMG, Manchester United and Lancashire Cricket, our students benefit from mentors, guest lectures, industry insight days, masterclasses and work experience opportunities. In addition, we provide financial support packages, beyond traditional scholarships and government loans, to students from disadvantaged communities.
At UA92, we are passionate about giving our students the tools, challenges, support and confidence to become their best selves and achieve their dreams. Ensuring you are career-ready once you graduate, every course at UA92 includes character and personal development built to empower self-belief and enhance employability.
With six start dates throughout the year, our community also benefits from structured learning, where students either study in the morning or the afternoon for the entirety of their course. Each student also has their own personal coach in Years 1 and 2 and in Year 3, they will have an industry mentor to support their progression into the workplace.
Make It For Real
Through our founding principles of accessibility, social mobility and inclusivity, we are proud of our commitment to make higher education accessible to all, and welcome all students no matter their background. We also pride ourselves on supporting students who are first in their families to attend university.
UA92’s Make It For Real campaign is an innovative financial package designed to help young people from disadvantaged backgrounds across the UK continue their education journey. Aimed at young people in communities where financial deprivation is high and accessing education is perceived as unaffordable or inaccessible, it is specifically aimed at those in receipt of, or eligible for, free school meals in the UK.
Through the Make It For Real UA92 package, recipients will receive £5,000 worth of support which includes: a laptop, unlimited data, lunch every day, travel pass to and from campus and a £150 home voucher.
